Cutthroat Bill

Cutthroat Bill is one of the pirate barbers who works at the Barbery Coast in Puerto Pollo. His fellow buccaneer hairstylists are Haggis McMutton and Edward Van Helgen.

Bill is a short but gravely voiced pirate. He appears fixated on gold and joins Guybrush Threepwood's crew only after Guybrush proves to him that he can find gold. In the Mega Monkey Mode the player ends up nearly choking Bill to death and then saving him, both times by slapping him on the back. This is necessary for the acquisition of the jawbreaker. He considers calling Guybrush's action the Threepwood Manoeuvre, but decides against it: "Nah!"

While serving aboard the Sea Cucumber, Bill and his crewmates ignore Guybrush (they are whale-watching) when Captain René Rottingham attacks and later sing a long song about being a pirate. Later Bill is seen repairing the ship after the crew mutinies.

Journeys

Bill started off as a crewman on the Raging Tightwad, sailing out of Puerto Pollo. His captain was a master treasure hunter who had a fifth sense (he was born without taste buds) when it came to finding treasure. After sailing around for weeks, the captain said the crew's golden earrings and belt-buckles threw the captain off. They tossed them into the sea, and after a while they found great treasure off the coast of Plunder Island. Unsurprisingly, this was a mass of golden earrings and belt-buckles.
