Charles DeGoulash (credited as The Ghost Groom and also known as the Guest who never left) is the skeletal corpse Guybrush finds in the Goodsoup Hotel on Blood Island. Proprietor Griswold Goodsoup believes the room to be haunted, with first bizarre smashing sounds coming from the room and later being replaced by an incessant moaning. Griswold is unaware that Charles was merely trapped in the put-away bed, unable to escape.

While alive, Charles DeGoulash was the only other man Minnie Goodsoup admitted she could fall for (the other being LeChuck, who left Minnie at the altar).

Guybrush sets him free of his torment, reuniting him with Minnie Goodsoup, now a ghost. The two profess their love for one another, kiss, and disappear into the hereafter. This gets Guybrush the wedding band for the ring that will lift the curse on Elaine.

Trivia

  • Charles DeGoulash is named after goulash, a soup of Hungarian origin made of beef, onions, red pepper and paprika powder. It could also be a reference to the French general Charles DeGaulle.
  • Charles appears to have been reading a book about the history of the Goodsoup family when he got trapped in the bed.
