Captain LeChimp

Captain LeChimp is a peaceful gorilla and the supposed captain of the Pirates of Danjer Cove, a group of monkeys. In truth he is considered captain only by the demented Mr. Fossey, who believes him able to talk. Guybrush, however, uses his ventriloquism skills with LeChimp to trick Mr. Fossey into leaving piracy. The voice Guybrush gives LeChimp sounds deliberately like a bad William Shatner impression.

As a joke in the early part of the game Fossey is continuously interrupted by his voices of delusion every time he tries to say LeChimp's name, only getting "LeCh-" out. This, for a while, leads Guybrush believe that Mr. Fossey is actually addressing LeChuck.
